Energy-sensitive production control
The eniMES framework is a management system for energy and material fluxes, developed at the Fraunhofer IWU. The system can reduce the energy requirements of the E³-Forschungsfabrik by 20% and can shorten commissioning times for production control systems.
Objective
- Reduction in the energy requirements of production systems in operation
- Early prognosis of energy consumption for optimized dimensioning of infrastructure
- Planning considering energy supply and appropriate control of factory operation
- Validation of energy-sensitive production control systems
Approach
- Development of the eniMES framework for the expansion of conventional production control systems
- Development of processes for supply-oriented planning of factory operation
- Development of the eniBRIC simulation module for representing all media requirements and consumptions for production, production infrastructure and building infrastructure
Development objectives
- Qualification of energy and software modules as components of a production control system
- Improvement of virtual commissioning of production control systems with extended energy efficiency
Benefits
- Reducing energy requirements by up to 20%
- Shortened commissioning times for production control systems
